Tournament Rules:

Follow the standard guidelines for double-elimination sand volleyball. We're a little looser on the male to female player ratio.

Team Captain Roles

Want to be a part of our event? Be a Team Captain! You don't even have to know how to play. Your role as Captain is as follows:

  • Organize a team of 6-8 players. If you don't want to play, you’ll need to organize 6 friends that do.
  • Agree to raise $1000 per team. (8 players = $125 a person).
  • Sponsors will write checks directly to Fashion Industry Dog Organization. Individuals writing checks will do the same.
  • We have an Active Giving ​ (www.active.com/donate/fido2017 )  account that helps you raise money through social media, emailing and texting. This is similar to a GoFund Me, but for sports related charity events.
  • Attend Launch TBA
  • Attend Kick Off party September 27.

  • Turn in money at Kick Off party.
  • Turn in list of sponsors that qualify for promotional merchandise (tank tops).
  • Receive players goody bags at tournament.


On (day of event), make sure players show up on time and sign in. Then you’ll take team photos.


Make sure team  fulfills sponsor-social media requirements.

  • Platinum-  Sponsor name required hashtag on social media postings during event with a minimum of 6 total postings per player
  •  Standard- Sponsor name required hashtag on social media postings during event with a minimum of 3 total postings per player



Team Guidelines:

Please review guidelines before registering your team. There are no refunds. Given the charitable nature of this event, if there's bad weather, we'll get together and have a good time for a good cause.


  •  Goal is to have 12-16teams with captains forming teams and helping their team raise money. 
  • Waivers will be filled out by each player on the day of the tournament.
  • Each team must have 6-8players.
  • This is a co-ed tournament.
